Our Vetting Process

The American Muslim Legal Ecosystem (AMLE) is a curated platform by CAIR-Chicago and the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA). Every attorney, law firm, and legal organization undergoes rigorous screening before inclusion:

  • Verification of active bar licensure and disciplinary record review
  • Assessment of legal expertise, case quality, and professional reputation
  • Evaluation of standing and respect within the national American Muslim community
  • Background checks and professional credential verification
  • Review of experience serving Muslim clients and understanding of community needs

While we carefully vet all professionals, inclusion does not guarantee specific case outcomes or constitute an endorsement of individual legal strategies. We do not assume responsibility for the quality of services provided in individual cases.

Independent Professional Relationships

Listed attorneys maintain independent practices. Any attorney-client relationship, fees, or legal services are established directly between you and your chosen counsel. CAIR-Chicago and MLFA are not parties to these relationships. Information on AMLE is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.

Your Due Diligence

AMLE provides a vetted starting point. We encourage you to:

  • Conduct consultations with potential attorneys to assess fit
  • Request references and verify current bar licensure
  • Review fee agreements carefully before signing
  • Ask about experience with cases similar to yours

Limitation of Liability

CAIR-Chicago and MLFA are not liable for: individual case outcomes, legal strategies, service quality, fee disputes, communication issues, or decisions made in selecting counsel. We continuously monitor listed professionals and may remove attorneys who no longer meet our standards.

Reporting Concerns

If you experience issues with a listed professional, please report concerns to the appropriate state bar association and contact us. We take all reports seriously and review continued inclusion in our directory.
